Peter Villalpando was born in Tucson, Arizona. After living there only a year his family moved to the Bay Area where he has been living ever since. In 2006 He transferred from Los Medanos Community College with an associate’s degree to Humboldt State University. After two years of studying art he decided to take a break from school and begin working. After three years of working, Peter decided to complete his fine arts degree at San Francisco State University where he graduated in 2013. He uses art to explore ideas of what it means to be an individual in a society that has easy access to information and a disconnection with face to face communication. He explores the abstraction of subjects such as landscapes and people, investigating the unknown, unseen and implied through paint application.
